Once you have your wedding gown, choosing your bridesmaids dresses will be the next most important decision.
It can be a difficult task of finding something to suit everyone and co-ordinating visits often takes time.
At Supernova we have a beautiful collection to suit your bridesmaids. Dresses can take up to 4 months from ordering to delivery, so please consider planning your appointment as soon as you have your chosen your wedding gown.

In April 2009 we opened our new Special Occasion department. We have over 200 dresses that you can choose from and take away with you immediatley.

There's no appointment needed if you would just like to browse. However, you will need an appointment to bring your bridesmaids back and try on.
To ensure that you get your chosen dress in exactly the colour, size and design
we suggest you make an order up to 6 months before your event.
Getting all your bridesmaids organised can take time and ideally you should plan on getting them all together and visiting us.
By having everyone there you will be able to make your decision.
Dresses needed urgently can be taken e from the collection available in store or with an eight week rush order surcharge.
We would strongly suggest that you order 6 months before to allow for delivery and alterations to be carried out.
History of the bridesmaid
The
history of bridesmaids dates back to Roman times when an army of similarly clad
bridesmaids would accompany the bride to the new husband's village.
The
bridesmaids were acting as guards who would protect the bride from robbers and
bandits.
In
later times, the Romans made it a law to have 10 witnesses present at a wedding
in order to ward off evil or, magical spirits that were believed to attend
marriage ceremonies.
These
attendants, both bridesmaids and ushers, dressed in identical outfits to the
groom and bride, in an attempt to confuse the evil spirits that wished harm on
the couple-to-be.
Until the late 19th century it was still
believed that forces could curses and taint the wedding.
In Victorian wedding
photographs you will notice that the bride and groom dress in simular attire to
other members of the bridal party.
Modern Day Bridesmaid
Today's bridesmaids are considered to be the
bride's special assistants and their role is to be helpful in the preparation
for the wedding and to assist the bride on the wedding day.
It is customery for the bridesmaids to wear
the same style/colour of dress. The
colour of the dress normallly determins the colour theme of the whole wedding.
Colours and Fabrics
There are over 40 colours in which all of the dresses featured on this page, are available.
At this present time chocolate, hot pink, dark purple (think Cadbury Dairy Milk) and burgundy are the most popular colours for 2010/2011
Taffetta and satins are the favourite fabric, closely followed by chiffons. Long dresses are favoured, over shorter styles.
PROM GIRLS - COME VISIT US...
Our Prom collection can be viewed between 9am to 5pm on Saturday and until 5pm during the week (except Wednesday, as we are closed) Please bring your mum with you as we are confident that we will have a gown that you'll love and want to take home!
You don't need to make an appointment on a Saturday, but give yourself about 40 minutes to try on everything we have in your size- we sell to nearly every girls that visit us and that means we are really busy!
Exclusive Friends Evening If you would like to book an evening for just you and up to 4 friends, please contact us. Parents /Guardian should accompany you to appointments.

Supernova Bridal is located in the heart of Datchet. We
are opposite the Manor Hotel and walking distance from the Datchet Mainline
Station, which has ample car parking.
M4 Leave the M4 at junction
5 and follow signs towards Datchet. Go straight on at the first roundabout and
you will soon arrive at a series of two mini roundabouts in the middle of the
village. Go straight over both towards the station and you will see the row of
shops on the high street. We are located on your right hand side.
From Windsor or through Old Windsor Follow signs towards Datchet
and turn towards Datchet village and signs for the station car park. The station
is just off the High Street .
By Train Datchet Station is on the
main line from Waterloo and is one stop before the end of the line at Windsor
and Eton Riverside. You can also get a train to us from Twickenham, Clapham
Junction or Richmond. The station is right next to the High Street where you
will find our showroom.
